The first device built entirely around a child's world.

Not a smartphone with restrictions bolted on. Not a toy. A device designed from the ground up for children aged 3 to 12 — and for the parents who worry about them.

Launching on Indiegogo in 2026 · Designed and engineered in Europe

A green frog-shaped Lumi device on a wooden table, showing its home screen, beside a phone running the Lumi Parent App with an activity feed, LumiCoins and live location.

Every parent faces the same impossible choice.

Give them a smartphone

Full internet access. Social media. Content no filter reliably catches. You lose control the day you hand it over.

Say no and hold the line

Your child is the only one in their class without a device. You argue about it every week. You become the enemy, and the problem doesn't go away.

Neither one works. So we built a third option.

Responsibility earns freedom.

The Lumi loop has four repeating stages.

  1. 1

    Parent sets a task

Tidy your room. Finish your homework. Be home by six. You set it from the Lumi Parent App, on your own phone.

  2. 2

    Child earns LumiCoins

When the task is done, coins land on their Lumi. Real effort, real reward. No ads, no in-app purchases, no way to buy their way past it.

  3. 3

    They spend them

Games, stories, learning content. Chosen by them, approved by you. They learn what things cost and what their time is worth.

  4. 4

They go and be a kid

Lumi goes with them. They message and play with friends who have a Lumi — no internet needed, no phone number, no accounts. You see where they are the whole time.

Then it starts again. That's the loop.

What makes it different.

LumiCoins

A working economy in your child's pocket. They earn coins by doing real things, and spend them on what they actually want. Financial literacy without a lecture.

Mesh — no internet required

Lumi devices talk to each other directly. Your child can message and play with friends at school, in the park, anywhere — with no WiFi, no SIM card, and no way for a stranger to reach them.

The Living Face

Lumi has a face that reacts. It blinks, it smiles, it yawns as bedtime gets closer. Children wind down because Lumi did — not because someone told them to.

Physical SOS button

A real button on the device, not an app. One press sends your child's live location to your phone. It can't be closed, uninstalled, or ignored.

Privacy and safety

Your child's data doesn't go anywhere.

Most connected children’s devices send everything to a cloud server. We designed Lumi so there is nothing to send.

Children communicate over a direct mesh connection between devices — the messages never touch the internet. The device runs on AkiraOS, built for EU Cyber Resilience Act compliance from day one, with a dedicated hardware secure element protecting everything on board.

This isn't a privacy policy. It's how the device is built.

  • No internet connection required for core features
  • Hardware secure element (NXP SE050)
  • EU CRA 2027 compliant by design

Built for 3 to 12. Perfect for the moment they ask for a phone.

Ages 7–10

The first-phone moment

Your child wants to talk to their friends and be trusted with something of their own. Lumi gives them that, without giving them the internet.

Ages 3–6

The safe first screen

Learning, stories and games you've approved, with location and an SOS button, so you're not handing over your own phone.
